Health as a Primary Food Week 1

Let’s Explore the Primary Food Health.

How does your health impact your happiness?

What is health?

They Say: “Without your health you have nothing.”  Until you or a loved one is faced with health issues it is easy to take your health for granted.  Be sure to make time to care for yourself and your overall well being.

The Word Origin for health is interesting.

I like the fact that Whole, To Heal, and Sacred are where it originated from.  This speaks to the work we will do to heal our whole selves emotionally, mentally, and physically.

ORIGIN of Word Health:  Old English hælþ “wholeness, a being whole, sound or well,” from Proto-Germanic *hailitho , from PIE *kailo- “whole, uninjured, of good omen” (cf. Old English hal “hale, whole;” Old Norse heill “healthy;” Old English halig , Old Norse helge “holy, sacred;” Old English hælan “to heal”).

Your body is amazing and has the ability to heal itself.  Listen to your body and give it what it needs: more water, rest, elimination of toxic relationships, etc.

As defined by World Health Organization (WHO), it is a “State of complete physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Let’s explore our health through our dietary selections and lifestyle.

How do the foods we eat affect our health?

Notice if foods make you tired, bloated, irritable.

Notice how the way you spend your time impacts your physical and emotional health.

Ask yourself Why Do I…?

Reflect on your own health.   What do you want to improve in this area? What steps will you take?   It could be as simple as drinking more water.

Health, Spirituality, Home Cooking, Career, Finances, Joy, Relationships, etc.

Don’t forget to check in after a week and see how the little changes you made are affecting your health. What’s working for you? Celebrate your successes.
